Sagemoor Miguel the Man

A tidbit about the grape(s)/wine style

Sagemoor LogoSagemoor farms 5 different iconic vineyards in Washington State, with their world-class grapes being used by 100 notable wineries, including Avennia, DeLille Cellars and Long Shadows. In 2014, Kent Waliser and his team set out to make the first wine under their own Sagemoor label. Now they make a variety of wines from Cabernet to Riesling, all of which are exceptional. This Right Bank Bordeaux-style red was made by Avennia wine-maker Chris Peterson, in honor of Weinbau Ranch Manager, Miguel Rodriguez.


Grapes: 70% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc

"A silky blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc sourced from the Wahluke Slope AVA, this wine begins with aromas of sagebrush that connect with the dark cherry and blackberry aromas that all build in the glass. The palate unveils a silky texture with a wonderfully soft mouthfeel that gives this a very Right Bank feel. Black currant, and anise flavors connect with the sagebrush and damp earth tones on the palate. While highly enjoyable in its youth, try to resist this beautiful wine for at least another year."

"It’s a magical connection in the bottle, starting with classic aromas of cassis and Herbes de Provence that are backed by a fun hint of Red Vines licorice. There’s superb balance and finesse to the fluid filled with cassis, cherry skins and roasted hazelnut, framed by age-worthyfine-grained tannins and a finish of butter vanilla."
